Bill overview
This bill changes the length of terms for township officers in Michigan. Starting in 2025, all township officers will serve four-year terms, with the exception of those elected before January 1, 2025, who will continue to serve two-year terms. The bill also clarifies procedures for filling vacancies in township offices, including appointments by the township board and the county board of election commissioners, and outlines rules for special elections when vacancies occur.
