Bill overview
This bill modifies Michigan’s liquor laws to allow counties to decide whether to prohibit the sale of spirits and mixed spirit drinks for consumption on or off the premises between 7 a.m. and 12 noon on Sundays or between 7 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Mondays. Counties can hold a referendum on this issue if a majority of their legislative body votes to do so, requiring a petition signed by a significant number of registered voters. The bill also addresses how these local decisions would be handled in the context of motorsports entertainment complexes.
