Bill overview
This bill changes how county road commissions in Michigan handle purchasing projects. It requires them to use competitive bidding for projects costing over $75,000, except in emergencies. The bill also updates the amount that triggers the bidding requirement to reflect inflation, and requires county road commissions to actively seek contracts with minority-owned businesses. Finally, it allows for longer payment terms for property purchases.
