House Bill 4472 creates a task force, named the Developing Effective Policies on Orderly Removal and Transportation (DEPORT) Task Force, to advise the legislature on policies related to the deportation of undocumented immigrants. The task force will be composed of representatives from various law enforcement agencies and local government officials across Michigan. It will produce reports and recommendations for the legislature and assist in identifying undocumented immigrants within the state’s criminal justice system. The task force is scheduled to be dissolved one year after its members are appointed.
