Bill overview
This bill requires Michigan to establish and maintain a continuing education program for individuals who are mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect. These reporters, including department, court, and agency personnel, must complete training every three years to recognize signs of abuse and neglect and understand their reporting obligations. The bill also directs the Department of Health and Human Services to provide public information about child abuse prevention and treatment. This legislation is contingent on the passage of Senate Bill No. 492 and House Bill 4530.
