Bill overview
This bill requires Michigan electric utilities to disclose information about power outages on customer bills. Specifically, customers will receive details on the number of interruptions, the total duration of interruptions, and the number of momentary interruptions during each billing cycle. The Public Utilities Commission will also track and report data on outage causes, tree trimming efforts, grid hardening projects, and the worst-performing circuits to ensure transparency and accountability.
