Bill overview
This bill modifies the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act to allow landowners with farmland under development rights agreements or easements to make changes to the boundaries of their land for greater regularity. It addresses situations where a landowner’s family member or essential farm operator dies or becomes disabled, permitting the land to be relinquished from the program with certain conditions and a lien. Additionally, the bill allows for the relinquishment of 1 acre of farmland to make easement boundaries more regular, subject to local zoning regulations and variance approvals.
