Bill overview
This bill creates a commission to investigate racial disparities in maternal health outcomes across Michigan. The commission will develop a statewide strategic plan to reduce these disparities, monitor minority health progress, and provide resources to local health coalitions. It also amends existing health data collection to specifically include statistics on obstetric violence and racism, and establishes a team within the Department of Health to comprehensively review maternal deaths and study relevant policies.
