Bill overview
This bill changes how health insurers and nonprofit dental care corporations in Michigan pay dentists for dental benefits. It requires these plans to offer payment methods that reimburse dentists 100% of the amount owed, without requiring the dentist to pay a fee to receive the payment. Dentists can choose to opt out of these methods, but their decision remains until they re-enter a contract or a new agreement is established. The changes apply to new and renewed dental benefits policies delivered in Michigan after the bill’s effective date.
