This bill creates a special fundraising license plate in Michigan to support spay and neuter clinics and animal shelters. The license plate will be designed in partnership with the Michigan Pet Alliance, and proceeds from its sale will go into a dedicated fund. This fund, called the ‘Protecting Michigan’s Pets Fund,’ will be managed by the state treasurer and used to provide financial support to these organizations. The goal is to reduce animal overpopulation and improve the care of homeless and abused animals in the state.
