Bill overview
This bill requires Michigan health insurance plans to cover immunization agents, certain laboratory tests, and related drugs when administered or ordered by a pharmacist at a pharmacy within the insurer’s network. Starting January 1, 2026, insurers must provide this coverage. The bill allows insurers to maintain their existing utilization management processes, but also permits cost-sharing like deductibles and co-pays for these services. This legislation expands access to pharmacist-administered immunizations and laboratory testing.
