Bill overview
This bill changes Michigan’s zoning laws to allow commercial events like weddings and similar gatherings to be held in barns and other buildings located on agricultural land. Currently, some zoning ordinances restrict such uses. The bill specifically prohibits zoning ordinances from preventing these events, while still allowing local governments to regulate aspects like noise and traffic. It will go into effect 90 days after it is signed into law.
