Overview
This bill creates an income tax credit for restaurants in Alabama that participate in approved oyster shell recycling programs. Restaurants can claim a credit of $1 for every 50 pounds of oyster shell material donated, up to a maximum of $2,000 per year. The credit is designed to incentivize the recycling of oyster shells to benefit local water quality and coastal protection. The Department of Revenue will oversee the program and provide necessary documentation.
