Overview
This Alabama bill requires public high schools to excuse students from class when they participate in National Signing Day events related to athletic scholarships, college commitments, apprenticeship programs, or military enlistments. Schools must provide reasonable accommodations for these activities, such as meeting space and internet access. The bill also allows guests to attend and may excuse other students to observe. The law will take effect on October 1, 2026.
