Overview
This Alabama bill allows the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) to issue digital versions of driver licenses and non-driver identification cards alongside traditional physical cards. Individuals can pay an additional fee to display the digital license through a mobile app, and it must contain the same information as a physical card. The digital license can be presented to law enforcement officials upon request, but it cannot be used as voter identification.
