Overview
This bill allows retired state employees of the Employees’ Retirement System or Teachers’ Retirement System to perform certain supplemental work without suspending their retirement benefits. It establishes earning limits for these supplemental jobs, which increase annually based on the Consumer Price Index. The bill also expands employment opportunities for retired law enforcement officers and firefighters, and allows retired attorneys to work as assistant district attorneys, with specific minimum service requirements. Finally, it permits retired employees to work as permanent full-time bus drivers under certain conditions.
