Overview
This bill changes the rules for removing board members in Alabama. It allows the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the House, President Pro Tempore of the Senate, House Minority Leader, and Senate Minority Leader to remove any board member they appoint, regardless of existing removal procedures. However, the bill includes exceptions for certain boards and prohibits removing individuals appointed to fill vacancies in elected offices. The changes are intended to increase accountability and responsiveness of boards.
