Overview
This bill amends Alabama law to provide greater protections for adjoining property owners in municipal lien foreclosures. It requires Class 2 municipalities to notify adjoining homeowners when a municipal lien foreclosure is scheduled and allows these homeowners to participate in the bidding process. Specifically, adjoining owners will be considered ‘interested parties’ and must receive notice, and they will have the opportunity to submit bids before a public auction, potentially leading to a higher sale price and preserving the property.
