Overview
This bill changes the number of constables in Mobile County and alters the qualifications for those positions. Starting in 2029, there will be three constables elected per Alabama House of Representatives district within the county. It also requires constables to be qualified electors of the district they represent. The bill’s effectiveness is contingent on a statewide law allowing local adjustments to the constable’s office.
