Overview
This bill aims to invalidate driver’s licenses issued to nonresidents who did not provide proof of legal presence when obtaining them. It prevents these licenses from being used in Alabama and requires law enforcement to issue citations for driving without a license. The Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency will maintain a website statement and design road signage to inform drivers about this change, and the Department of Transportation will install the signage. The bill also amends existing law to clarify that a nonresident’s license is invalid if it indicates they did not provide proof of legal presence.
