Overview
This bill changes how the Division of Construction Management oversees capital improvement projects at K-12 schools and higher education institutions in Alabama. It exempts projects valued at $750,000 or less from the division’s standard inspection and recommendation processes. While projects under $750,000 will no longer require division approval, the division will still review them for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and fire/life safety regulations, issuing written recommendations if needed. The bill also includes technical updates to the state’s code.
