Overview
This bill creates an income tax credit for Alabama restaurants that donate oyster shells to approved recycling programs. Restaurants can claim a credit of $1 for every 50 pounds of oyster shell donated, up to a maximum of $2,000 per year. The goal is to incentivize oyster shell recycling to benefit water quality and coastal protection. The credit is available starting in the 2026 tax year and will expire after 2030.
