Overview
This bill permanently extends an assessment on emergency medical transport providers in Alabama. The assessment, initially set to expire in 2028, is now ongoing. It’s calculated based on the number of transports provided and capped at 5.3 percent. Emergency medical transport providers must file reports detailing their transports and revenue, and the Alabama Medicaid Agency will distribute an ‘enhancement’ payment to providers based on Medicaid reimbursement rates.
