Overview
This bill amends Alaska’s fisheries laws to clarify the composition of the Board of Fisheries and define key terms related to subsistence fishing and uses. Specifically, it changes the requirements for Board members to include representatives of commercial, sport, and subsistence fishing, as well as a member from the scientific community. The bill also updates the definitions of ‘subsistence fishing’ and ‘subsistence uses’ to better reflect the practices of rural residents.
