Overview
This bill modifies Alaska’s laws regarding railroad easements. It clarifies the minimum width required for these corridors, allowing for flexibility if the railroad doesn't own sufficient land. Importantly, it prohibits railroads from selling all of their land within these corridors but allows them to lease or grant easements for various uses, including transportation and commercial activities, while also preventing excessive fees for property owners utilizing the easements.
