Overview
This bill creates a small monthly surcharge on both landline and wireless telephone services in Alaska to fund behavioral health crisis services. The surcharge, of $0.98 per month, will be collected by telephone companies and deposited into a dedicated fund. This fund will be used to support the 988 suicide and behavioral health lifeline, provide services to individuals in crisis, train personnel, and improve related programs and data collection.
