Overview
This bill changes Alaska’s vehicle registration and titling process for older, legally imported cars. It allows vehicles that are at least 25 years old and brought into the United States legally to be registered without meeting current federal safety standards. The bill also protects owners of these vehicles from having their titles suspended or revoked due to safety standard non-compliance. The law takes effect immediately.
