Overview
This bill establishes a plan for dealing with animals during disaster emergencies in Alaska. It requires the state to create a plan for evacuating, sheltering, and identifying animals, and directs the Alaska State Emergency Response Commission to develop and maintain this plan. The bill also updates the commission’s structure to include representatives from animal welfare organizations and ensures local emergency planning committees include relevant stakeholders, such as animal care personnel.
