Overview
This bill makes changes to Alaska’s child care assistance and grant programs. It strengthens privacy protections for families applying for or receiving child care assistance, limiting how the Department of Health can use information about applicants and recipients. The bill also updates eligibility standards for the child care assistance program, including a maximum household income of 105% of the median monthly income, and clarifies how administrative costs for contractors are handled. Furthermore, it establishes a program to incentivize employers to offer on-site or near-site child care and modifies grant provisions for child care facilities.
