Overview
This bill establishes a state grant program to help communities build or renovate fire stations. Fire stations that apply for a grant must contribute at least 50% of the project's cost themselves. The Department of Administration will oversee the grant process, prioritizing projects based on public safety needs and the applicant’s ability to maintain the station long-term. Funds for the program will come from existing state revenue sources and will be available for several years.
