Overview
This bill would allow Alaska municipalities to offer residents an optional limit on how much their property taxes can increase each year. If a municipality chooses to implement such a limit, it can restrict property value increases to between 3% and 10% annually. The assessed value of the property would still be equal to the assessed value, but the increase would be capped. This aims to provide homeowners with more predictability in their property tax bills.
