Overview
This bill aims to help disabled veterans in Alaska by waiving certain municipal fees related to home improvements. Specifically, it allows municipalities to waive fees for building permits, plan reviews, inspections, and other related costs when modifications are needed to a veteran’s residence due to a disability. The veteran or their caretaker must provide proof of veteran status and a statement about the necessity of the modifications. The bill also defines ‘disabled veteran’ for the purpose of this legislation.
