Bill overview
This bill modifies Arizona’s transaction privilege and use tax (TPT) rules to create an exemption for certain tangible personal property sales. Specifically, it expands the list of items exempt from TPT to include prosthetic appliances, insulin, prescription eyeglasses, hearing aids, durable medical equipment, certain food items, lottery tickets, cash equivalents, precious metal bullion, and more. It also includes provisions related to sales to qualifying organizations like hospitals, health care facilities, and community health centers, as well as exemptions for materials used in environmental remediation and certain cultural events. The bill also addresses sales of motor vehicles and clarifies rules for sales to nonresidents.
