Bill overview
House Bill 2171 prohibits Arizona residents from selling or leasing real property to individuals or entities linked to hostile foreign governments, including those from China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia. The bill requires current owners who acquired property before its effective date to divest themselves of their interests within a year, and those who acquired property after the effective date have one year to do so. Violations can result in felony charges and require the state to manage and potentially sell the property.
