Bill overview
House Bill 4005 requires Arizona public schools to begin offering instruction on artificial intelligence starting in the 2027-2028 school year. This instruction will cover the ethical and moral considerations of using AI, as well as basic techniques for prompting AI systems. School districts have flexibility in how they deliver this instruction, either through a dedicated course or by integrating it into existing curricula, and must report on their efforts to the Department of Education.
