Bill overview
This bill changes how cash transactions are rounded in Arizona. Starting January 1, 2026, businesses must use ‘Swedish rounding,’ which rounds the total transaction amount to the nearest five cents. This applies to final cash transactions after taxes and fees, but not individual item sales or transactions using non-cash payment methods. Businesses must post a notice informing customers about this rounding method.
