Bill overview
Senate Bill 1124 changes how health profession regulatory boards handle concerns about a health professional’s ability to practice safely. If a board suspects a professional may not be practicing safely, they must provide a detailed notice to the professional, allowing them to respond. The board will then decide whether to require a psychological or psychiatric evaluation, and if one is ordered, the board will provide a copy of the evaluation results and reimburse the professional for related costs. This bill aims to ensure fairness and transparency in these evaluation processes.
