Bill overview
Senate Bill 1271 restricts municipalities in Arizona from penalizing businesses based on the number or frequency of emergency service requests or property damage reports. However, a city can impose penalties if those requests are intentionally false, malicious, or frivolous, and only after providing the business with written notice of the issue. The bill also excludes penalties related to routine alarm system alerts.
