Bill overview
Senate Bill 1457 creates an Advanced Air Mobility Fund to support the development and implementation of air mobility technologies in Arizona. The fund will be used to purchase vehicles for testing and demonstration, construct vertiports (landing pads for these vehicles), and, importantly, acquire vehicles specifically for border security operations, prioritizing counties along the state’s international borders. The fund’s money will come from legislative appropriations and private donations, and investments made within the fund are exempt from typical appropriation lapse rules.
