Bill overview
This bill establishes a program to improve school safety by creating and maintaining accurate, standardized school mapping data. The Department of Education will develop requirements for this data, including compatibility with public safety software, detailed floor plans, and location of critical resources. Schools receiving grants must create and maintain this data, annually certify its accuracy, and provide it to relevant public safety agencies. The data itself is exempt from public disclosure.
