Bill overview
This bill creates rural groundwater management work groups in each Arizona groundwater basin. These groups will be comprised of representatives from natural resource conservation districts and soil and water conservation districts, as well as affected parties and local experts. The work groups will be responsible for providing recommendations to the Department of Water Resources for changes in rural groundwater management, and districts must coordinate their support of these groups. The bill also outlines procedures for reporting findings and recommendations to the Governor and the legislature.
