Bill overview
Senate Bill 1657 changes how attorney fees are handled in Arizona family court cases. It requires that any awarded attorney fees be paid from the couple’s shared assets if available. If shared assets don’t exist, the court can only order a party to pay attorney fees up to 15% of their disposable income or $8,000, whichever is lower.
