Overview
This bill modifies Georgia’s tax laws to allow taxpayers who claim the federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) to also receive a corresponding state tax credit. Currently, Georgia does not automatically recognize and credit the federal WOTC. This change aims to incentivize employment opportunities for individuals from certain targeted groups and provide a financial benefit to Georgia taxpayers who qualify for the federal credit. The bill includes provisions for eligibility, limitations, and recapture of the credit.
