89R2849 CJD-D By: Lalani H.B. No. 601 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to increasing the criminal penalty for the offense of making a firearm accessible to a child. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 46.13(d), Penal Code, is amended to read as follows: (d) An [Except as provided by Subsection (e), an] offense under this section is a Class A [C] misdemeanor. SECTION 2. Section 46.13(e), Penal Code, is repealed. SECTION 3. The change in law made by this Act applies only
