89R4513 CJD-D By: Moody H.B. No. 889 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to the prosecution and punishment of the offense of making a firearm accessible to a child; increasing a criminal penalty. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 46.13(a)(1), Penal Code, is amended to read as follows: (1) "Child" means a person younger than 18 [17] years of age. SECTION 2. Section 46.13, Penal Code, is amended by amending Subsections (c), (d), and (e) and adding Subsections (c-1)
