89R1071 SCL-D By: Dorazio H.B. No. 1053 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to the text of municipal ballot propositions on the issuance of bonds. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 1331, Government Code, is amended by adding Section 1331.003 to read as follows: Sec. 1331.003. BONDS THAT INCREASE TAXES. A ballot proposition to approve bonds issued by a municipality that would add or increase taxes must include the following statement: "THIS IS A TAX INCREASE."
