89R5890 EAS-F By: Schatzline H.B. No. 1265 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to artificial intelligence mental health services. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subtitle E, Title 7, Health and Safety Code, is amended by adding Chapter 616 to read as follows: CHAPTER 616. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES Sec. 616.001. DEFINITIONS. In this chapter: (1) "Artificial intelligence" means computer software designed to simulate human intelligence through machine learning and perform tasks normally requiring human involvement.
