89R16016 EAS-D By: Morales of Maverick H.B. No. 4644 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to reducing the criminal penalty for the offense of cockfighting. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 42.105(g), Penal Code, is amended to read as follows: (g) An offense under Subsection (b)(1) or (2) is a Class A misdemeanor [state jail felony]. An offense under Subsection (b)(3), (4), [or] (5), or (6) is a Class C [A] misdemeanor. [An offense under Subsection (b)(6) is a Class C misdemeanor, except
