89R15987 JTZ-D By: Shofner H.B. No. 4794 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to active shooter training for peace officers. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 1701.253(q), Occupations Code, as added by Chapter 102 (S.B. 1852), Acts of the 88th Legislature, Regular Session, 2023, is redesignated as Sections 1701.253(r) and (r-1), Occupations Code, and amended to read as follows: (r) [(q)] As part of the minimum curriculum requirements, the commission shall require an officer to complete a training program of not less than 16 hours on responding to an active shooter
