Bill overview
This bill aims to improve public access to recreational areas on federal land by increasing funding for related projects. Specifically, it increases the amount of money available from the Land and Water Conservation Fund. The bill modifies a section of existing law to allocate a larger portion of the fund – $50 million – towards recreational access improvements, up from the previous $15 million, and directs 10% of the fund to these projects instead of 3%. This would allow for more trails, campsites, and other facilities to be developed and maintained for public use.
